West Side Choir School

The West Side Choir School is a Royal School of Church Music-affiliated treble chorister program that trains young singers to become lifelong musicians. Development of vocal technique, musicianship, and teamwork builds skills that will enrich the lives of choristers and the community for generations. Choristers train in rehearsals with the Director of Music Ministries and sing bimonthly services with the adult Chancel Choir.

Young singers emerge from the Choir School program with a deep love of the arts, enhanced self-confidence, and an ability to work collaboratively. In a time when the arts are slipping in many schools, West Side is committed to providing children with an opportunity for musical growth. The program is non-sectarian and tuition-free.

The West Side Choir School is open by audition to young singers grades 3-12. Prior musical training is not a prerequisite, and the try-out process is informal and fun!

Treble choristers rehearse Sundays, 12-1:30 pm and Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00 pm.

This program is an singular opportunity that is unique to the Ann Arbor area. Make your family a part of this exciting musical community! If your child loves to sing, please contact Director of Music Adam Begley at adam@westside-umc.org.
