West Side’s historic Chancel Choir has sung in regular services since the church’s founding in 1847. First founded as Ann Arbor’s German Methodist Episcopal Church, West Side has occupied three locations over the church’s history.
Now at our hilltop Seventh Street location, West Side offers a vibrant program of choral ministries. The Chancel Choir sings weekly services, bringing singers from Ann Arbor and metropolitan Detroit together with artists and faculty from the University of Michigan. Our diverse repertoire spans Gregorian chant to American spirituals, from South African folksongs to masterpieces of English cathedral music.
If you love to sing, and if you yearn for a community that feels like a second family, join the choir! No previous singing experience is necessary. Please contact Director of Music Adam Begley at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more about Music at West Side.
